My Journey.

Hello! I’m so glad you’re here and curious about my personal journey into the world of wellness. Let me preface by saying it hasn’t been an easy one and I’m still learning and fine tuning what works for me and my family. And that will probably be the case for decades to come. You see, what I’ve come to understand is that nutrition is dynamic. Not only is our knowledge constantly evolving, but our needs, as individuals, fluctuate as well. And that’s why learning how to listen to our bodies and adapting our approach is so fundamental to leading a wholesome life.

I graduated as a Registered Holistic Nutritionist in 2019 but my passion for food, fitness, and healthy living goes back at least another 10 years to my time at university. For years I struggled with anorexia and bulimia as a coping mechanism for how out of control I felt in my life. But during my studies at McGill, I ended up taking an interest in fitness and noticed a shift in the messaging to women. All of a sudden there was an emphasis on strength and power instead of just calorie counting and weight loss. And slowly my focus pivoted from the number on the scale to the pounds I could lift and the nutrients needed to fuel that movement. Fast forward a couple of years, and I had become completely captivated by the impact diet could have on everything from energy to mood, sleep, and skin health - so much so, that I enrolled at the Canadian School of Natural Nutrition to learn more. And I was so moved by everything that I learned and experienced, that I quit my corporate sales job to commit myself fully to helping others lead healthier lives.

Looking back, it has been a very long journey full of trial and error, but I am so grateful for where I am today. I can’t even remember the last time I counted the calories in a meal or stepped on a scale, and that thought is so liberating. Your body has an incredible ability to replenish and thrive when given the opportunity. Each ingredient you use in a meal has the capacity to revitalize a part of you and that awareness is so empowering. But I get it, there is so much information out there, and often so little time in a day. So if you’re feeling overwhelmed, or even just curious about a different approach to wellness, you’ve come to the right place. I will never judge where you’re at or impose rigid protocols. My goal is to teach and encourage my clients so that they can discover the diet and lifestyle choices that work for them and their families.

Our lifestyle.

When I enrolled at the Canadian School of Natural Nutrition, I expected to simply learn more about cooking nutritious meals, but ended up gaining a much deeper understanding about what it means to be well. As much as we explored how the body functioned, diet became only a piece of the puzzle. From what we think to the air we breathe, there are so many factors that affect our wellbeing.

Nutrition is absolutely fundamental to our health, but that same holistic approach to what you eat ends up carrying over into all aspects of your life. And it turns out that what is good for us, is also good for the planet!

As a mom, it has become even more important to me now that the choices we make everyday support the wellbeing of our families and help build a better future for our children. But there is no shame or need to feel overwhelmed. We tackle our challenges one day, one choice, at a time, doing what we can with information and resources we have.
